Hong Kong has no statutory register for psychologists or counsellors. The Department of Health says these professions regulate themselves, through voluntary registers run by professional bodies. Its Accredited Registers Scheme puts one body behind one register.

The Hong Kong Institute of Clinical Psychologists administers the register of clinical psychologists. People on it may use the title Clinical Psychologist in Accredited Register. You can open that list and look up a name and a registration number.

Counsellor and psychotherapist sit outside it. For those titles, ask what training the person completed and who holds them to account. Verify with the HKICP List of Registrants and the Department of Health's Accredited Registers Scheme.
