Cyprus runs one general healthcare system, known as GESY. Its law, 89(I)/2001, counts registered clinical psychologists among the other health professionals. A contracted psychologist does not set the price.
The Health Insurance Organisation fixes the level of payment by decision. It does so after consulting the responsible professional associations, with the Minister's agreement. A provider inside the system may not charge the beneficiary for covered care.
Access runs through a referral from a personal doctor or a system specialist. GESY does not cover a person who goes straight to a clinical psychologist. The Registration of Psychologists Law, 68(I)/1995, sets no fee.

Who registers therapists in Cyprus
In Cyprus, the competent authority for registering psychologists is the Cyprus Council for Registration of Psychologists. Registered Psychologist is the title it confers, and the council is where a claim to that title can be checked rather than taken on trust.
For therapist titles outside psychology, this council's list is not the right check, and the answer will depend on the practitioner's own training and professional body. Search the register by name at Cyprus Council for Registration of Psychologists (SEPs).
A current entry is that body's own published record of the person. Cyprus runs two psychology registers, and only the licensed psychologist practises autonomously in an approved specialisation. A qualified psychologist is limited to teaching, research and interviewing for referral, so ask which register a name sits on.
