Barbados holds psychologists and counsellors under the Paramedical Professions Council, and registration with the council is required in order to practise lawfully. That makes registration a fair thing to ask a practitioner about rather than an awkward one, and someone who holds it should be able to say so plainly.
Where a title sits outside the professions the council covers, its register is not the check that answers, and its silence says nothing about training held elsewhere. Verify with Paramedical Professions Council (PPC).
