Armenia funds medical care from three sources. They are the state budget, insurance payments, and what people pay directly. The Law on Medical Assistance and Services names all three. Where a person pays directly, the law requires a contract, on a model form the authorised body approves.
Free and preferential care runs through annual state health programmes. Government Decision N 318-N of 4 March 2004 sets out how those work. Under it the health minister approves the prices, in agreement with the finance minister. That decision also routes hospital referrals through the family doctor.
In cases of mental illness the relevant specialist refers instead.

Who is allowed to practise
Licensing arrangements for therapy differ a great deal from one country to the next, and for Armenia TherapyRoute cannot point you to a national register to check a practitioner against. Ask a practitioner what training they completed, what title they use, and whether they hold a registration anywhere, then ask to see it.
You can read how therapy regulation differs between countries.
Real choice. Authentic, independent, clinician-led care.
TherapyRoute is a clinician-led directory that champions independent practitioners who answer to you and their professional ethics. We don't take commissions, sell your data, or assign therapists by algorithm. You browse, compare, and choose.
