Therapeutic Counselor

My areas of focus are: Stress and Anxiety | Expat and modern living challenges | Relationships and conflict | Emotional crisis | Body Disconnection | LGBTQ+. I create safe, non-judgemental spaces where my clients can get to know themselves deeply, gain greater awareness and emotional intelligence, confront their obstacles, experience growth, authenticity and change, and develop emotional tools and resources to manage stress and navigate the many challenges of today’s [often insane, unhealthy and imbalanced] world.

About Me

I'm a therapeutic counsellor from South Africa specialising in emotional support, development and wellbeing for expats & foreigners away from home and in other cultures. I am based in Granada, Spain, where I provide in-person sessions as well as online sessions, in English and Spanish.

Approach

I specialise in Gestalt techniques and the body-mind connection. Without including our bodies in the process, we continuously loop around in our minds and don’t truly involve, connect with and understand the messages from our bodies and emotions. I have been through my own process of emotional healing. I engage with my clients as a relatable human and not as a sterile, blank page with no personality or life experiences. I am gentle, loving and empathetic. I am also energetic, creative and full of joy. And I am honest, engaging and genuine. A HOLISTIC APPROACH Nothing exists on its own. I work with you, as a whole, with all the external and internal influences that shape who you are. You are the expert and authority on your life. I help you to uncover your truth. Learning to trust yourself and unlearn everything that is not you. Anchoring yourself in the present moment. Developing awareness of your breath and your body, its messages, tensions and signals. MY FOCUS AREAS I care deeply about each of my client’s unique stories & each and every issue that’s important to them. That being said, my special focus areas are: The challenges of living abroad as a foreigner, in a foreign land and culture Stress and Anxiety Relationships, conflict and emotional crisis Emotional dysregulation Disconnection - from ourselves, our emotions and our bodies LGBTQ+ Navigating the challenges of today’s society: social media, overproductivity, the inability to stop and rest, overstimulation, and eco-anxiety HEALING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOURSELF You’re not broken and you can heal. Everything you’re looking for already exists within you. If you’ve found your way here, this is proof that you are already on the path to finding answers. Don’t stop searching. Believe in yourself and the life that you dream of living. I know that you are capable of making the changes you’re looking for. I have. You can.

Services

WHO ARE MY CLIENTS? Living in a country that is not natively my own, I give clients a perspective that takes into consideration culture, language barriers and the challenges of living abroad. I have a mix of clients: many are English speaking expats of many different nationalities and looking for emotional support from someone who can offer familiarity; Others are Spanish speaking, equally expats or living in Spain, and looking for someone alternative and open minded with a multi-cultural perspective.
