In Russia, the psychotherapist title is a medical one. The registry records that only medical doctors with specialist training are licensed as psychotherapists by the Ministry of Health, and lists psychiatrists, medical psychotherapists, clinical psychologists and narcologists as the recognised categories. The question worth asking is therefore whether a practitioner is a medically licensed specialist or a non-medical psychologist, because under Russian rules those are different things and only the first carries a medical licence.
What a session costs varies with training, setting and where the practice is. See how to think about the cost of therapy.
