Psychology and counselling in Pakistan sit inside a statutory licensing scheme. The Allied Health Professionals Council Act, 2022 lists psychology and counselling among its disciplines and bars practice in a listed discipline without the Council's licence and registration. A false claim of registration is a criminal offence, so asking which discipline a person is registered under is a fair question.
Psychiatrists are doctors and answer to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council instead. You can open the Allied Health Professionals Council site. Verify with Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC).
Therapy fees in Pakistan are set by each practice, so what a psychologist, psychotherapist or psychiatrist charges depends on their qualifications, the length of the session and where they work. Therapists generally set what they charge with their own cost of living in mind, and fees tend to track local income levels.
If the fee is beyond your means, ask about a sliding scale based on income. Look at non-profit mental health services, university training clinics and group sessions, which usually cost a good deal less than individual ones.
