North Macedonia's Health Insurance Fund pays for the basic health services an insured person uses. It sets reference prices for those services under its own rulebook. That rulebook was published in the official gazette, Sluzben vesnik 5/2024.

Rights under compulsory insurance are grouped into primary, specialist-consultative and hospital care. An insured person can also be exempted from the cost share on specialist and hospital services. Mental health care has its own statute, the Law on Mental Health, Sluzben vesnik 71/2006, amended by 150/2015.
