Ms Cheryl Chin Yi Fen

Family Therapist

Verified

Since 2016, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families, earning trust through my clinical competence, professional maturity, and cultural sensitivity. While relatively young in age, I am recognised for my thoughtful, grounded presence and my ability to work effectively with complex emotional and relational challenges.

About Me

I am a licensed counsellor, certified clinical supervisor, and certified multigenerational family therapist. I am one of only nine therapists in Malaysia to have completed the Advanced Course in Multigenerational Family Therapy in Italy under Maurizio Andolfi. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling, a certification in Family Therapy from Australia, and advanced training in Emotion-Focused Therapy under Leslie Greenberg. Alongside my clinical practice, I provide clinical supervision to counselling students and mental health professionals.

Approach

I combine emotional depth with systemic insight in my therapeutic work. I help clients understand how current symptoms and relationship difficulties may be connected to deeper, unresolved emotional experiences and multigenerational patterns. My approach supports the development of greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and more secure, meaningful connections with oneself and others.I combine emotional depth with systemic insight in my therapeutic work.
