This page lists Female Teen Psychotherapists in Nairobi. 3 in all.
These are practitioners who identify as female on their profile 1. We ask every therapist that question, and they may decline to answer. We do not check it.
This list answers an explicit request for a woman.
A client and a practitioner always differ; what matters is what that means to you and how you work with it 2. You can filter the same list by the languages a practitioner works in.
How therapy with teenagers works
A therapist shapes the work to the teenager's age. It is not adult therapy cut short.
Physical, emotional and social change in adolescence can make young people vulnerable to mental health problems 3.
Work often covers anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, school, friendships and conflict at home. A therapist handles confidentiality differently with a young person than with an adult.
A therapist usually involves parents to some degree. Ask a practitioner at the start what will be shared with you.
What psychotherapy works on, and how long it usually runs
Everyone on this page describes their work as psychotherapy. A psychotherapist works through talking with you about your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Psychotherapy usually runs longer than counselling and aims for clinical change. It works on patterns that repeat rather than on one current problem.
A psychotherapist trains in psychological treatment rather than in medicine. What that training covers, and which approach a practitioner uses, differ between practitioners. Ask which approach a psychotherapist trained in, and how long they usually work.
What this page filters on
These are the only filters: the practitioner's stated Female identity, the specialism recorded as Teen and the professional title psychotherapist.

Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital - General Mental Health Outpatient Services. Phone +254 20 2337694. Kenya's Social Health Authority covers mental health care in its benefits package.
