This page lists Female Anxiety Psychotherapists in Newmarket. 4 in all.
That is 4 of the 6 psychotherapists listed in Newmarket.
These are practitioners who identify as female on their profile 1. We ask every therapist that question, and they may decline to answer. We do not check the answer, and nothing here is ranked.
This list answers an explicit request for a woman. While many people prefer this, we found no research on whether it changes how the therapy goes.
A client and a practitioner always differ; what matters is what that means to you and how you work with it 2. You can filter the same list by the languages a practitioner works in.
How anxiety is treated
Anxiety treatment is for fear and worry that persist and get in the way. It is not for ordinary nerves.
The treatments with the most evidence are based on cognitive behavioural principles 3. That includes exposure therapy, where you face what you have been avoiding, a step at a time.
A prescriber may also consider medicine, depending on age and severity 4.
What psychotherapy works on, and how long it usually runs
Everyone on this page describes their work as psychotherapy. A psychotherapist works through talking with you about your thoughts, feelings and behaviours 5.
Psychotherapy usually runs longer than counselling and aims for clinical change. It works on patterns that repeat rather than on one current problem.
A psychotherapist trains in psychological treatment rather than in medicine. What that training covers, and which approach a practitioner uses, differ between practitioners. Ask which approach a psychotherapist trained in, and how long they usually work.
What this page filters on
These are the only filters: the practitioner's stated Female identity, the specialism recorded as Anxiety and the professional title psychotherapist.
The Newmarket page answers more questions about therapy there.
What these practitioners record
3 of the 4 have included their registration on their profile.
