What therapy costs in Malta
Each practice in Malta sets its own therapy fees. If the fee is beyond your means, ask about a sliding scale based on income, and look at community mental health services and any counselling your employer provides through an assistance programme.

Registration and licensing
Malta regulates psychology, psychotherapy and counselling under separate Acts. Each profession has its own regulator and its own warrant. The Malta Psychology Profession Board issues the psychologist's warrant, the Malta Psychotherapy Profession Board the psychotherapist's, and the Council for the Counselling Profession in Malta the counsellor's.
A warrant, rather than a membership, is what registers a person in those professions. So the warrant is the thing to ask about. A psychiatrist is a doctor, checked instead on the medical register held by the Medical Council.

Real choice. Authentic, independent, clinician-led care.
TherapyRoute is a clinician-led directory that champions independent practitioners who answer to you and their professional ethics. We don't take commissions, sell your data, or assign therapists by algorithm. You browse, compare, and choose.
