Psychologist-Psychotherapist

verified by TherapyRoute

I am a psychologist and psychotherapist committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based, and compassionate care. My work is grounded in creating a supportive therapeutic relationship where clients can explore challenges, gain insight, and move toward meaningful change. I am trained in EMDR and integrate this approach where appropriate to help clients process traumatic experiences, reduce emotional intensity, and support lasting recovery. Alongside therapy, in collaboration with accredited European laboratories clients can benefit from a more integrative approach to wellbeing by providing specialised health assessments that can help identify underlying factors contributing to symptoms such as fatigue, low energy, or feeling run down. These include a fatty acid balance test, a gut test, vitamin D testing, and a long-term blood sugar test. The insights gained allow for personalised guidance, including lifestyle and nutritional support and, where appropriate, laboratory provided recommendations for targeted vitamins or supplements. This combined approach supports both emotional and physical wellbeing, helping clients work toward more sustainable and holistic health.

About Me

My journey into this work began with a deep curiosity about people’s inner worlds and a desire to understand how experiences shape the way we think, feel, and relate to others. This led me to train as a psychologist and psychotherapist, and over the years I have had the privilege of working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. Through my clinical experience, I came to appreciate how healing often happens within a safe and genuine therapeutic relationship, where clients can slow down, make sense of their experiences, and begin to create meaningful change. This understanding continues to shape the way I work today, collaboratively, thoughtfully, and always with respect for each person or couple’s unique story. When appropriate, I integrate EMDR to support the processing of traumatic experiences and help build resilience. As my work evolved, I became increasingly aware of the strong connection between emotional wellbeing and physical health. Seeing how often clients struggled with persistent fatigue, low energy, or feeling generally depleted led me to broaden my perspective and explore more holistic ways of supporting wellbeing. This exploration gradually became part of my practice. Alongside psychotherapy and, in collaboration with accredited European laboratories, clients can also benefit from specialised health assessments, including a fatty acid balance test, a gut test, vitamin D testing, and a long-term blood sugar test. These provide additional insight that can help inform personalised lifestyle and nutritional support when relevant, complementing the therapeutic process. At the heart of my work is the intention to offer a space that feels supportive, grounded, and human, where clients can better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Approach

Therapy moves at each client’s pace, blending practical strategies with gentle exploration to support deeper understanding and lasting change. In-person sessions are held in Burmarrad, and online sessions are available via Zoom. Where helpful, therapeutic work can be complemented by broader wellbeing insights. For some clients, health assessment results allows them to consider how factors such as nutrition, energy regulation, and overall physical balance may be influencing mood, resilience, and daily functioning. This can inform supportive lifestyle adjustments and, when appropriate, consideration of targeted nutritional or vitamin support as part of a holistic care plan. Together, we review progress, set small and achievable goals, and use focused processing when difficult memories, emotions, or patterns arise.

Basic Information

Services

I offer support to adolescents, adults, couples, and families across a range of emotional, relational, and behavioural needs. Services are tailored to each client or couple, with a focus on practical change, deeper understanding, and long-term wellbeing. Individual Therapy Individual sessions provide a confidential space to explore emotional difficulties, life transitions, stress, anxiety, low mood, trauma, and patterns that may be keeping clients stuck. The work focuses on building insight, strengthening coping strategies, and supporting meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable. Couples Therapy Couples sessions focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, navigating conflict, and strengthening emotional connection. Whether partners are feeling stuck in repeating patterns, facing a specific challenge, or wanting to deepen their relationship, therapy offers a structured space to understand each other more clearly and develop healthier ways of relating. Family and Adolescent Support Work with families and young people focuses on emotional regulation, behavioural challenges, communication, and supporting developmental transitions. Sessions aim to create greater understanding within the family system while helping young people feel heard and supported. ADHD Coaching ADHD coaching supports both adolescents and adults who experience difficulties with focus, organisation, time management, motivation, and emotional regulation. The work is practical and goal-oriented, helping clients develop strategies that improve daily functioning, productivity, and self-confidence. EMDR EMDR is offered when clinically appropriate to support the processing of distressing or traumatic experiences. This approach helps reduce the emotional intensity linked to past events, supports nervous system regulation, and can be effective for trauma, anxiety, phobias, and other stuck patterns. Career Guidance and Psychometric Assessment Career guidance sessions support adolescents, students, and adults who are exploring career direction, considering a change, or wanting greater clarity about their strengths. Using accredited occupational psychometric tools, assessments may include personality, cognitive ability, emotional intelligence, and competency-based profiling. These insights help clients better understand their preferences, potential, and work style, supporting informed decisions about education, career paths, and professional development. Integrative Health and Wellbeing Assessments Many people experience ongoing fatigue, low energy, frequent illness, or simply feel that they are not functioning at their best. These symptoms can sometimes reflect underlying imbalances even when routine checks appear normal. To support a more comprehensive understanding of wellbeing, specialised health tests are available for both adults and children, with personalised guidance including lifestyle, nutrition, and where appropriate, targeted vitamins or supplements. Fatty Acid Balance Test Assesses the balance between omega-6 and omega-3 fats, which play an important role in brain function, development, inflammation, and overall health. Gut Test Provides insight into gut health, which is closely linked to digestion, immunity, and mood, and may be helpful for clients experiencing digestive discomfort, low energy, or frequent illness. Vitamin D Test Measures vitamin D levels to assess whether additional support may be beneficial for immunity, bone health, and energy. Long-Term Blood Sugar Test Offers an overview of blood sugar balance over time, supporting a proactive approach to energy regulation and metabolic health.
