Health insurance in the Czech Republic is compulsory for residents. The clinical psychologist is the one psychologist who counts as a health worker. Only that role may give long-term care paid from public health insurance.

The practitioner needs a contract with the public health insurance funds. Fees for that care are not set by the practice. The Ministry of Health sets point values and payment rates each year by decree. It does so under the Public Health Insurance Act, No. 48/1997 Sb.

The Czech Republic's statutory chamber for doctors, the Česká lékařská komora, publishes a public list of physicians. The regulated identity it records is the physician, with a specialty shown where one is held, so a psychiatrist is checked here as a licensed doctor rather than under a separate psychiatric title. Because it is a doctors' chamber, it does not answer for a psychologist or a psychotherapist on a Czech listing.

You can search the Česká lékařská komora list of doctors. Czech law regulates the title psycholog ve zdravotnictví under Act No. 96/2004 Sb., where the clinical psychology attestation allows independent work.

Psychoterapeut appears nowhere in that Act, so ask which healthcare qualification sits behind the word.
