In Bangladesh the public route runs through district hospitals and upazila health complexes. Tertiary care sits with the National Institute of Mental Health. Specialists are concentrated in a few cities.

Registration and licensing
Bangladesh has no statutory register for psychologists, counsellors or psychotherapists, and no law requires a licence to practise talking therapy. Psychiatrists are the exception: they are medical doctors registered with the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.
For psychologists, the marker to ask about is voluntary professional membership, most notably the Bangladesh Clinical Psychology Society, whose members typically hold the University of Dhaka MPhil in clinical psychology.
