Unzela

Ms Unzela Haider-Haroon

Psychologist

I am a qualified English-speaking psychologist in the Hague, the Netherlands. I offer therapy for expats, internationals, young adults and adult third culture kids. I can help you if you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected to find clarity, balance, and a deeper understanding of yourself. Our work together can help you finally shift unconscious thought patterns and change behaviour. I know from my training and personal experience that therapy can have a huge positive impact on our personal life and our interpersonal relationships. In my work, I combine warmth and curiosity with a mix of evidence-based approaches such as Schema Therapy, ACT, CBT and mindfulness. Together, we’ll explore how your patterns developed, what you need now, and how to move toward a more fulfilling life.

About Me

I offer a calm, confidential space where you can share your thoughts and feelings without judgment. My aim is to truly listen, providing an empathic ear as we process what's on your mind. This approach helps you feel deeply heard and understood, fostering clarity and personal growth. I believe a supportive environment is key to navigating life's challenges effectively. Therapy with me is a conversation. I am a real person too which means I will be present with you in a session, bridging my own personality into the room. Clients often describe me as having a positive calming presence. I’ve been told I am grounded, warm and engaged (also, I have an expressive face, so no poker face here!).

Approach

You’ll notice sessions shaped by gentle attention and clear structure, offered in English in The Hague. We move at a steady pace—exploring current pressures, sorting feelings around loss or change, and identifying small practical steps between meetings. I draw on active listening, reflective questions and skill-building so you can manage stress, make clearer career or relocation choices, and rebuild after separation. This way suits adults facing transitions or burnout who want compassionate clarity and practical support.
