Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Verified

Experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, psychotherapist, mediator, and coach supporting individuals, couples, and families toward emotional healing, relational restoration, and whole-person wellness. My work integrates clinical expertise, cultural sensitivity, and transformational growth to help clients build healthier lives, relationships, and purpose.

About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, psychotherapist, mediator, and coach based in Nairobi, Kenya, with over 16 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, families, and communities through emotional distress, relational challenges, life transitions, and personal growth. I hold a PhD and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and bring a relational, culturally responsive, and whole-person perspective to care. My work is shaped by experience with diverse local and international clients across cultures, nationalities, faith backgrounds, and socioeconomic contexts. I am also an Accredited Mediator of the Judiciary of Kenya and a Certified GiANT Worldwide Coach. Where appropriate, I use internationally certified general and clinical assessments to support clarity, treatment planning, self-awareness, and measurable progress.

Approach

My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, evidence-informed, and culturally sensitive. I create a safe and respectful space where clients can explore painful experiences, understand relational patterns, strengthen emotional resilience, and make meaningful changes at a manageable pace. Sessions combine reflective conversation, clinical insight, practical tools, coaching strategies, and, where needed, mediation-informed dialogue. I pay attention to the emotional, relational, cultural, spiritual, and social dimensions of healing, while honoring each client’s values, identity, and lived experience. I offer therapy in person in Nairobi and online, in English and Kiswahili. Clients seeking support with grief, divorce, relationship distress, family conflict, inner wounds, addiction-related concerns, or major life transitions often find this work grounding, compassionate, and growth-oriented.

Services

My therapeutic services are guided by the philosophy of “Wholeness in Wellness and Wealth”, a commitment to helping clients heal and grow as whole people. This includes emotional wellness, relational health, spiritual grounding, meaningful purposeful living, and the wise stewardship of personal, family, and life resources. • Individual psychotherapy: grief, emotional pain, anxiety, life transitions, trauma-related patterns, self-worth, addiction-related concerns, and personal development. • Couple and marriage therapy: communication difficulties, conflict, disconnection, divorce or separation concerns, forgiveness, trust-building, and relational repair. • Family therapy: family dysfunction, parenting challenges, intergenerational wounds, boundary issues, and conflict resolution. • Mediation: constructive dialogue, relational conflict, family matters, reconciliation processes, and negotiated agreements. • Coaching: personal growth, emotional intelligence, leadership development, relational effectiveness, and purposeful living. • General and clinical assessments, using internationally certified tools where appropriate, to inform insight, planning, and progress.
