Renata Andrade

Psychotherapist (Registered)

Experienced, empathic counselor helping people living abroad take care of their mental and emotional health.

About Me

I offer empathic support to those navigating life abroad. Living away from home presents unique emotional challenges, from cultural adjustment to feelings of isolation. As an experienced, registered psychotherapist, I provide a safe space to explore these complexities. Our sessions help you process difficult emotions and build resilience. I guide individuals to find stability and nurture their mental well-being. My aim is to help you thrive, wherever you are in the world.

Approach

Helping someone settle emotionally abroad often begins with gentle attention to the small, daily disruptions that erode confidence and connection, then naming the patterns that carry pain. In a calm room in Dun Laoghaire or via secure online sessions in English or Portuguese, I move at a steady pace — listening, reflecting and offering different lenses on memories, losses and relationships. We trace how past hurts shape stress, relocation grief and anxiety, and try new responses between sessions so change is experienced, not just discussed. Many adjusting to new countries find this reflective rhythm helpful.
