Panagiotis

Dr Panagiotis Bokolis, PhD

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist

I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy in Greek and English, online or in person. My clinical experience began at the Adolescent Health Unit of the "Aglaia Kyriakou" Children's Hospital, and continues today in private practice, which I have run since 2016. I work with adults and adolescents facing a wide range of difficulties — anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, among others — always attentive to the particular way each person's history and language shape their symptoms. My orientation is Lacanian: I am a member of the Borromean Knot – New Lacanian School (NLS), and I hold a PhD in Philosophy alongside an MSc in Clinical Psychology. Therapy, in my view, is a space where speech is taken seriously.

About Me

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist working with adults and adolescents around anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and other difficulties. What guides my work is less a fixed method than an attentive, ongoing listening — I try to follow what is singular in each person's way of speaking, rather than fit it into a diagnosis or a technique. Symptoms, in my experience, are rarely random: they carry a logic worth taking seriously. My clinical background combines several years at the Adolescent Health Unit of the "Aglaia Kyriakou" Children's Hospital with private practice, which I have run since 2016. I offer sessions online or in person, in Greek or in English. Alongside clinical work, I hold a PhD in Philosophy and have trained for over a decade within the Lacanian orientation, through the Borromean Knot – New Lacanian School, including ongoing supervision and my own personal analysis, which I consider inseparable from clinical practice. If you are looking for a space to think through what is difficult, rather than simply manage it, we can work together.

Approach

My work follows what returns — the patterns, phrases and repetitions through which a person's history shows up in their present symptoms, whether anxiety, OCD, mood shifts or trauma. Rather than offering quick explanations, I try to create the conditions for something new to be said, and heard, session by session. Sessions take place in Athens or remotely, in Greek or English, following each person's own rhythm rather than a fixed timeline. I pay particular attention to the links between earlier relationships and present difficulties, and to how each person's own words — not a diagnostic label — point toward what is singular in their situation. This way of working, which makes room for what cannot be generalized, suits those going through a transition, a loss, or a period of exhaustion, who are looking for more than symptom relief.
