Ólöf Dröfn

Mrs Ólöf Dröfn Eggertsdóttir

Psychotherapist

An experienced psychotherapist that works with adults that are struggling with burn out and settling in as an expat. After living in the USA for 25 years I understand what it is like to relocate and settle down.

About Me

I understand the unique challenges adults face when navigating burnout and the complexities of expat life. Having personally lived in the USA for 25 years, I deeply appreciate what it takes to relocate and truly settle in. As an integrative psychotherapist, I offer a supportive space to explore your experiences. We can work together to find practical ways to manage stress and build a stronger sense of belonging.

Approach

You’ll notice a practical, steady pace that balances talking through daily pressures with small, embodied experiments to ease overwhelm and re-root you after moves. Sessions are held in Reykjavik or online, in English or Icelandic, so we shape work around your current life and time zone. We often map routines, try short mindfulness or hypnotic anchors between meetings, and gently explore relationship and cultural patterns that keep stress looping. This approach suits adults and couples looking for down-to-earth tools to feel steadier while finding their place abroad.
