About Me
Approach
Welcome, and thank you for taking a look at my profile here. I appreciate you taking the time and energy towards seeking support, and I wish you well on your healing journey.
I'm here to support you if you're:
- Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety that interferes with your daily life
- Carrying the weight of past trauma that affects your present
- Struggling as a highly sensitive person in a world that often feels too intense
- Navigating the challenges of living abroad or building a life in a new country
- Seeking more self-compassion and gentler ways to relate to yourself
- Otherwise looking to heal, grow, and thrive in this wild world
I was born and raised in San Francisco, California and earned my Master of Arts in counseling psychology in the Netherlands (NIP #246167) after having lived in Europe for several years. My own journey with anxiety, trauma, and life as a highly sensitive person has taught me firsthand that while healing isn't always linear, it is always possible. I bring both professional training and lived experience to our work together, which helps me connect with your experiences with genuine empathy and curiosity.
Services
Hi, I'm Katie (she/they). I offer flexible, integrative online therapy in English. In our work together, I aim to provide you with:
- Practical tools to calm your nervous system when you feel overwhelmed
- Ways to recognize and transform unhelpful thought patterns
- Techniques to reconnect with a sense of safety in your body
- Support in building healthier relationships with yourself and others
- A judgment-free space where all parts of your identity are welcomed and affirmed
I believe in a combination of flexibility and structure - I want therapy to make sense for you and fit into your life. Sessions are typically an hour long, through Zoom, anywhere from twice a week to once a month (though I recommend starting with weekly sessions so we can form a solid connection and foundation for your healing).
Ready to take the first step? I offer a free 20-minute consultation where we can discuss what's bringing you to therapy and how I might help. There's no obligation, and it's a chance for us to see if we're a good fit. Book your consultation by emailing me at beingwellwithkatie@gmail.com.
