Mx Kalen Zeiger

Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

I am a queer therapist who works with queer individuals, families, partners, parents, and groups in Iowa. I utilize postmodern therapy models to provide affirming and trauma-informed mental health care and WPATH-based psychosocial assessments for letters of support. My clinical supervisor is Jess Pladsen, LMFT #000397.

About Me

As a queer therapist, I understand the unique experiences of queer individuals, families, and groups. I offer affirming, trauma-informed mental health care. Together, we can navigate life's challenges in a space where you feel truly seen and heard. My aim is to support you in finding strength and clarity. I also provide WPATH-based psychosocial assessments for letters of support. This ensures your unique story is respected and your path forward is clear.

Approach

Working with queer individuals, families, partners, and parents, I shape sessions around your values and rhythm so you feel steady rather than rushed. I offer appointments in Hiawatha and online in English, keeping sessions structured yet adaptable to what’s most pressing that week. We use postmodern, narrative-informed inquiry alongside focused trauma work and collaborative assessment tasks—sometimes mapping patterns, sometimes preparing materials for letters—so progress feels practical and visible between meetings. This approach tends to suit people seeking clarity around identity, relationships, or healing from trauma.
