Counselor

verified by TherapyRoute

I offer a space where you can slow down, be met with warmth, and begin to make sense of what you’re going through. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or wanting to understand yourself more deeply, I’m here to support you. In our work together, we explore your experiences with compassion, especially the parts that may feel difficult, painful, or confusing. At the same time, we gently look at where change is possible: where you have choice, agency, and the ability to move forward in new ways.

About Me

Hello, I’m João. I am a Counselor based in Tomar, Portugal but I work online worldwide. I hold NCPS - Accredited Registrant and offer counseling for relationship issues, trauma, life transitions, immigrant experience, LGBTQI+ matters, and abuse. My aim is to support you in finding a way forward that feels more grounded, more intentional, and more your own.

Approach

In our work together, we explore your experiences with compassion, especially the parts that may feel difficult, painful, or confusing. At the same time, we gently look at where change is possible: where you have choice, agency, and the ability to move forward in new ways. My approach is relational and human. I believe that meaningful change happens when we feel understood, but also when we begin to take responsibility for how we respond to our lives. Our work may include understanding past experiences and trauma, developing emotional awareness, and finding new ways of relating to yourself and to others. My intention is to walk alongside you as you build a stronger sense of self, more clarity, and a way forward that feels truly yours.
