Emma Louise Grover

Specialist Wellness Counselor

I work with women and couples. My focus lies in helping those navigating trauma, grief, abortion, dissociation, mind-body disconnection, and shame. I work with parts work, embodied awareness, the focusing technique, somatic movement, cycle awareness, art-making, narrative techniques, and mindfulness.

About Me

I help women and couples navigate challenging experiences like trauma, grief, and shame. When mind-body disconnection or dissociation feels overwhelming, we can gently explore this together. My approach uses tools like embodied awareness to help you reconnect with yourself. This offers a supportive space to understand your experiences deeply. We can then find a clearer path forward.

Approach

From that openness, therapy often moves into gentle, paced exploration that helps you feel steadier in your body and clearer in your story. I offer sessions in English from Cape Town and online, meeting you where you are and keeping work grounded and accessible. During sessions we bring attention to sensations, invite conversations between inner parts, and use movement, creative experiments and short mindfulness practices to shift stuck patterns; between meetings I may suggest brief embodied exercises or reflective prompts to deepen gains. This approach tends to suit women and couples seeking gentle, body-attuned change.
