About Me

I am a medical doctor, specialist in psychiatry, and IAREBT Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy psychotherapist practising in Belgrade, Serbia. I provide private psychiatric consultations and evidence-based REBT psychotherapy in Serbian and English. Appointments are available in person at my Belgrade practice and online via Zoom. My international online REBT psychotherapy service is intended for adults, expatriates, foreign residents, digital nomads, international students, executives, professionals, entrepreneurs, and clients living abroad who are seeking confidential and professionally structured psychotherapy in English. As both a psychiatrist and an IAREBT REBT psychotherapist, I approach psychological difficulties from medical, cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and interpersonal perspectives. Treatment is individually tailored and may include psychiatric assessment, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, structured psychological interventions, medication management when appropriate, and a personalised treatment plan. My principal areas of work include anxiety, panic attacks, depression, chronic stress, burnout, low self-esteem, excessive self-criticism, guilt, shame, anger, jealousy, emotional dependency, relationship and intimacy difficulties, sexual concerns, obsessive thinking, psychosomatic symptoms, grief, trauma, and challenging life transitions. REBT helps clients identify and change rigid, absolutistic, and self-defeating beliefs that contribute to emotional distress. The aim is not only temporary symptom relief, but also the development of psychological flexibility, unconditional self-acceptance, emotional responsibility, frustration tolerance, resilience, and healthier behavioural patterns. - International Online REBT Psychotherapy Individual REBT psychotherapy is available online via Zoom for clients living in Serbia and internationally, subject to professional and legal requirements applicable to the client’s location. Online sessions provide continuity of psychotherapy for clients who travel frequently, live abroad, or do not have access to an English-speaking REBT psychotherapist in their local area. - Online Psychiatric Consultations via Zoom Online psychiatric consultations and medication reviews may be provided via Zoom when clinically appropriate. This service is particularly suitable for adults who are currently living, working, studying, or temporarily staying in Serbia and who already have an established psychiatric diagnosis and documented treatment. Before the consultation, clients are asked to provide relevant medical documentation, previous psychiatric reports, current prescriptions, medication details, and proof of identity. An in-person appointment may be required when: * the medical documentation is insufficient; * the client’s identity cannot be reliably verified; * the current mental state cannot be adequately assessed online; * there are significant safety concerns; * physical examination or additional diagnostic evaluation is required; * the requested medication cannot appropriately be reviewed remotely. A prescription may be issued only following an individual psychiatric assessment and only when continuation of treatment is medically indicated, clinically safe, and legally permitted in Serbia. Payment covers the psychiatric consultation, clinical assessment, and review of documentation. It does not represent payment for a guaranteed prescription.

Approach

My therapeutic approach is structured, evidence-based, integrative, and individually tailored, with Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) as its central psychotherapeutic framework. As both a specialist psychiatrist and an IAREBT REBT psychotherapist, I consider psychological difficulties from medical, cognitive, emotional, behavioural, interpersonal, and lifestyle perspectives. This allows me to develop a treatment plan that reflects the client’s symptoms, personal history, relationships, values, goals, and current life circumstances. REBT is based on the understanding that emotional distress is influenced not only by difficult events themselves, but also by the beliefs, interpretations, and demands through which those events are understood. Clients learn to identify rigid and self-defeating beliefs, examine their accuracy and usefulness, and replace them with more flexible, realistic, and constructive alternatives. A central aim of therapy is to help clients develop: * unconditional self-acceptance; * greater emotional stability; * psychological flexibility; * increased frustration tolerance; * healthier interpersonal boundaries; * reduced catastrophising and self-condemnation; * more effective communication; * practical and sustainable behavioural change. My work is collaborative, active, and goal-oriented. Sessions are not limited to discussing problems; they are designed to help clients understand the mechanisms maintaining their difficulties and to develop practical skills that can be applied outside therapy. Depending on the client’s needs, treatment may include cognitive restructuring, behavioural exercises, emotional regulation techniques, exposure-based work, communication training, mindfulness, relaxation, body-awareness methods, and structured therapeutic assignments between sessions. I place particular emphasis on creating a confidential, respectful, and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship. Clients are encouraged to explore difficult thoughts, emotions, behavioural patterns, and relationship dynamics openly, while maintaining a clear focus on meaningful change. When clinically appropriate, psychiatric assessment and medication management may be integrated into the treatment plan. Medication is considered as one possible component of care and is never used as a substitute for a comprehensive clinical understanding of the person. Online REBT psychotherapy via Zoom is available for clients in Serbia and internationally, where professionally and legally appropriate. Psychiatric consultations and medication-related services are provided only following an individual clinical assessment and in accordance with applicable legal and professional requirements.
