Mrs Angela Morton

Counselor

I work with both couples as well as individuals holistically and compassionately without judgement, offering a safe space for whatever needs to show up in a session. As a certified doula, I offer support to parents through pregnancy and baby loss, birth trauma and pregnancy termination.

About Me

As a holistic counsellor who has been through her own challenges and therapies, including cancer, I am able to offer compassion and understanding to my clients, because I get it! Over the years I have created my own way of working with my clients based on my own experiences as well as theirs. My doula work has paved the way for a better understanding of perinatal mental health. This enables me to really step in and support mental health challenges as well as trauma and loss during this period. I also train doulas to hold space for labour and birth and this is a constant reminder for me to do the same in my counselling practice.

Approach

All my sessions are online and I work holistically. With perinatal loss, I hear you, hold you and help you process at an emotional level. Gently, when you’re ready, we move into practical ways of managing the future. I offer practical tools and activities to help you stay grounded and continue healing. In my couples work, the focus is on clear communication, conflict management, connection, creating intimacy and team work. This approach is practical and I share skills in order to attain the goals that have been set. My work with individuals focuses on bringing into awareness blocks and self-limiting belief systems that keep us small and stuck. We also look at inner child work as a healing modality, along with more practical ways to shift and change. I believe in action!
