Counseling Psychologist

verified by TherapyRoute

I work using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy, within a trauma-informed, queer-affirmative, and kink-affirmative approach.

About Me

I'm Aditi Bhatt, a psychotherapist with a focus on client-centered therapy to help with relief and recovery from chronic stress, anxiety, and burnout. I take a collaborative approach in therapy. In the first session, I will ask a lot of questions to understand you and the context of where you come from. We will look at what is working for you, what isn't, and what you'd like to see change. I don't label or diagnose people, as I'd rather view you as a whole person, irrespective of what you're going through. You set the direction, the goals, and what we'll focus on. I don't come in with a fixed agenda or a predetermined idea of what needs to change. I have a humanistic and intersectional feminist approach to therapy, which means that I believe you know what is best for yourself. What I offer is a space that's safe enough to actually feel the things that seem too big or too scary to sit with alone. The feelings and thoughts that show up when you get home after work and are figuring out what to do next.

Approach

The modalities I draw on most are somatic work, cognitive approaches, parts work, and narrative practices. However, they're just tools to work with. By the end of your first session, my goal is that you leave with something concrete, however small it is. Could be a clearer sense of what you want out of therapy, what the next step looks like, or what small step you can start taking that day to make life easier for yourself. The work we do in therapy is practice for the work you do outside of it. The goal isn't for you to need therapy forever. It's for you to build enough trust in yourself that you need it less. I work with adults of all genders, including queer and trans clients, online across India and abroad. I hold a PG Diploma in Counseling Skills and an M.A in Psychology (Counseling). I have 900+ hours of counseling experience. My resume and proof of qualifications can be shared upon request as well.

Basic Information

Services

You already know what's wrong. You know what you're thinking, what you're feeling, and how to fix it. But that one thing isn't done yet. You can't relax just yet. You're driven at work, you want to meet certain goals, and then take that long deserved break. And yet, it's hard to think of what to eat that night once you get home. You wonder if tonight is finally the night you'll sleep peacefully for 8 hours. You hope you don't spend another night doomscrolling or asking AI how to feel better. And it's not working. And you're tired of things not working. I've sat with this myself. I've worked with clients who've felt the same way. You're not alone. This isn't a personal failing. And yes, things can get better. That said, there isn't a one-size-fits-all here. And it isn't as easy as telling you to do three things everyday and that will fix it, because let's be real, it probably won't. You've probably already tried everything. A lot of what looks like anxiety, burnout, and disconnect, starts making more sense when we look at the full picture — the pressure you're under, the systems you're operating in, the expectations you never agreed to but somehow inherited anyway. That's what we do in therapy. We take a step back, look at the full picture, and look at not just what's happening inside you, but also outside of you. We work at your pace. Sessions are 50 minutes and online. The first clarity call is a no-pressure 20 minute conversation where we can explore if I'm the right fit for you. Are you going through something like this? Take the first step towards not feeling this way.
