These Are The Five Major Types Of Anxiety Disorder
In 2007, the federal government provided funding to create and support the Canadian Mental Health Commission.
Among other goals, the Commission has led the development of national mental health strategies and worked to reduce the stigma of mental illness.
People with panic disorder have panic attacks, a sudden feeling of fear in the absence of real danger.
The physical symptoms of panic disorder include rapid heartbeat, chest or abdominal pain, and difficulty breathing. People may also faint, feel dizzy, sweat, and feel cold or tingling in their hands. You may feel like you are having a heart attack.
Panic disorder is more common in women than in men and anxiety disorders are more common in women. Researchers are still figuring out why this might be the case. This may be due to female hormones, especially those that fluctuate over a month. Testosterone can play a more masculine role and relieve anxiety. It is possible
Women are less likely to receive treatment, so anxiety is exacerbated. The first symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder often appear around the third or fourth grade of primary school. It can be started after school holidays, such as vacation or summer, or after a long illness.
Each child may have different symptoms. Many people experience fear at some point in their lives. Fear is a normal reaction to stressful life events, such as moving, changing jobs, or financial problems. However, if your anxiety symptoms are getting worse than the event that triggered them and affecting your life, it could be a sign of an anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders can be debilitating but can be managed with appropriate treatment.
The five main types of anxiety disorders are:
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), an anxiety disorder characterized by chronic anxiety, excessive anxiety, and stress with little or no provocation.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by repetitive thoughts, unwanted thoughts (mania), and/or repetitive behaviors (obsessions). Repetitive activities such as washing, counting, checking, or washing hands are often used to prevent or eliminate intrusive thoughts. However, performing these so-called “rites” is only temporary relief, otherwise, your anxiety will increase significantly.
Panic disorder is an anxiety disorder characterized by recurring episodes of sudden and severe anxiety with somatic symptoms that may include chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, or abdominal pain.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder that can develop after a terrible event or experience that results in serious injury or threat. Traumatic events that can trigger PTSD include violent personal attacks, whether natural or artificial, Disasters, incidents, or military battles. Social phobia or social anxiety disorder is an anxiety disorder characterized by widespread fear and over-self-awareness in everyday social situations.
Social phobia can be limited to one situation. For example, a fear of speaking, eating, or drinking in front of others in formal or informal situations or its most severe form, symptoms can be so common that symptoms are noticeable when they are around other people.
Panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and anxiety disorders are the most common mental disorders and are associated with high medical costs and disease burden.
Large population studies indicate that up to 33.7% of the population will experience an anxiety disorder during their lifetime. Unawareness and inadequate treatment of this disease have been demonstrated. There is no evidence that the prevalence of anxiety disorders has changed in recent years. When compared between cultures, prevalence varies greatly. This heterogeneity is due to methodological differences, not cultural influences.
Anxiety disorders are chronic. However, its prevalence naturally declines with age. Anxiety disorders coexist strongly with other anxiety disorders and other mental disorders. Millions of Americans are living with mental health problems. Fortunately, the conversation is moving away from taboo to a more general and healthier approach. Mental health is defined as mental and emotional well-being.
Mental health problems in adolescents are important, relatively common, and treatable problems. Whether it’s a preventive treatment for women or special obstetric and gynaecological care, obstetricians and gynaecologists have the opportunity to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with mental disorders in adolescents through early detection, timely referral, and coordinated treatment. It is important to understand the obstetric and gynaecological consequences of mental disorders and their treatment.
While mental disorders should be treated by a qualified mental health professional or therapist , obstetricians and gynaecologists can help by managing the gynaecological side effects of psychiatric medications and by providing effective contraception and regular screening for sexually transmitted diseases.
