Romania regulates psychology and medicine through two statutory bodies. Psychologists answer to the Colegiul Psihologilor din România, which records right-to-practise levels running from practicant under supervision through to specialist and principal, so the level tells you how autonomously a practitioner may work.

Doctors, psychiatrists among them, are held by a separate body that publishes a public national register. For a doctor you can check a registration on the Colegiul Medicilor din România register. Search the register by name at Colegiul Psihologilor din România (CPR).

A current entry is that body's own published record of the person. Legea 213/2004 lists psihoterapia among the activities of a psiholog cu drept de liberă practică. A Romanian psihoterapeut is therefore checked as a psychologist at a stated practice level, not under a title of its own.
