Finland has 1 therapist listed on TherapyRoute.
The list on this page is short, and it may not hold anyone who suits you. Two things below still apply. One is who is entitled to register as a therapist in this country. The other is what shapes the cost of a session here.
Finland pays for private psychotherapy through Kela, the state social insurance institution. Kela grants rehabilitative psychotherapy on a psychiatrist's statement. It then reimburses a set amount for each session.
The therapist sets the price, and usually deducts the reimbursement from it. Kela says the reimbursement is often smaller than the price of the session. The person pays the rest themselves. The route in starts at a health centre, occupational health or student health service.
One route in the public system carries no charge. The Act on Client Charges, 734/1992, makes psychosocial support arranged as a mental health service free.

Who registers therapists in Finland
Psykologi is a licensed profession in Finland. The Licensing and Supervision Agency grants the right to practise on application. It took over Valvira's work at the start of 2026. Psykoterapeutti is a protected title rather than a licence.
Only someone who has completed university-run psychotherapy training may use it. That university must teach psychology or medicine. Both statuses appear in JulkiTerhikki, the public register of health care professionals.
