Practitioners here are spread across a number of places rather than gathered in one. Each city below carries its own list. You can also filter for practitioners who work by video, wherever they are.

Egypt has two separate public routes into care. The universal health insurance scheme starts at the nearest primary care unit. A household registers there, is linked to a family physician, and is referred upward when the case needs it.

The authority says the state carries treatment and contributions for those who cannot pay. Specialist mental health care sits under a separate ministry body. It is the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, and it is older than the insurance scheme.

Egypt also runs a national electronic mental health platform. Its counselling is free, and it is open to everyone living in Egypt. Read the insurance authority's own account at the Universal Health Insurance Authority.

Law 210 of 2020 amended the 2009 mental health law. It created a psychotherapy licence for practitioners who are not psychiatrists. The Ministry of Health and Population issues it. The title clinical psychologist is not itself protected.

Someone may use it without holding that licence. The Egyptian Psychologists Association is a body people join, not a state register. Psychiatrists are a separate case, licensed as doctors under the medical profession law.
