What therapy costs in the Dominican Republic
The Dominican mental health law builds a national network with three levels of care. Law 12-06 makes the first level the door into that network. It covers outpatient care, prevention, follow-up, emergencies and home visits.
Primary care units and community mental health centres sit at that level. The law also requires a crisis intervention unit in each specialised general hospital. Law 12-06 sets no scale of charges. Nor does Law 22-01, which created the Dominican College of Psychologists.

Registration and licensing
Psychology in the Dominican Republic is governed by Ley 22-01 of 2001. That law created the Colegio Dominicano de Psicólogos. It asks for three things: an exequátur granted by the Executive, registration with the college, and permanent residence in the country. Clinical work needs more.
The law asks for a postgraduate specialisation in clinical psychology. Registration with the college must be in that category. Practising or holding yourself out as a psychologist without meeting the law is an offence. It carries fines and a prison term.
Ask a practitioner for the exequátur and the college registration, and ask to see both.
