What therapy costs in Bulgaria
Bulgaria pays for psychiatric care differently from the rest of its health system. Inpatient psychiatric care is not bought by the health insurance fund. The Ministry of Health subsidises state and municipal hospitals and mental health centres for it directly.
Prices are set establishment by establishment. Under the Health Establishments Act each one publishes its own price list. The Ministry collects those lists and publishes them by region.

Registration and licensing
In Bulgaria, the legal regulatory body for doctors is the Bulgarian Medical Union, and its national register is where a psychiatrist's licence can be confirmed. The register separates general psychiatry from child psychiatry and forensic psychiatry; for a young person, look under child psychiatry. Because it is a doctors' register, it answers for psychiatrists rather than for every therapist on a Bulgarian listing.
Bulgaria's state list of regulated professions, adopted by Decision 619 of 2009, carries neither Психолог nor психотерапевт. Neither word stands for a state licence, so ask which qualification and which professional body sit behind it.
