Find a Therapist in Belarus

The list on this page is short, and it may not hold anyone who suits you. Two things below still apply. One is who is entitled to register as a therapist in this country. The other is what shapes the cost of a session here.

In Belarus a paid medical service carries a tariff the provider must report. Legal entities and sole traders send the Ministry of Health the tariff for every paid service. They send it again whenever a tariff is revised.

The ministry's own template list has separate headings for adult psychotherapy and child psychotherapy. The state system runs alongside this. The Law on Healthcare, article 4, sets out two ways a person reaches care.

One is free care at state expense, in state health institutions and university clinics. That limb rests on the state minimum social standards in health care. The other is care the person, an employer or another lawful source pays for. It may be given in state or private organisations, or by a sole trader.

In Belarus the mental health titles are medical ones. The health ministry treats the psychiatrist, the psychotherapist and the clinical psychologist as licensed medical roles, alongside the specialist in addiction medicine, and a state medical licence is required to practise under any of them.

Ask whether a practitioner holds that state licence: under Belarusian rules the title and the licence are the same claim. A non-medical counselling title sits outside this arrangement.
