Ms Wendy Corliss - Sentient

Counselor

Calm and compassionate therapist with extensive experience helping people overcome complex and persistent problems.

About Me

I am a counselor and psychotherapist based in Sydney, New South Wales. I work with you on addiction, anxiety, mood disorders, divorce and abuse. I use counseling, EMDR, psychodynamic therapy and somatic psychotherapy to reduce symptoms and build coping skills.

Approach

Calm attention shapes how I structure sessions: steady pacing, clear goals and room to name what feels unsafe or stuck. I work with people in Sydney or via secure online sessions in English, keeping appointment lengths and homework flexible around everyday demands. Together we map patterns in thoughts, sensations and relationships, using present-moment grounding, trauma-focused processing and practical experiments you can try between meetings to build new responses. This approach often helps those facing trauma, addiction, grief or mood challenges who want relief and deeper understanding.

Services

I am a calm, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapist. I work to develop relationships of deep trust and understanding with you. I have a great deal of experience helping people overcome complex and persistent problems. I will never give up on you. I will hold the hope for you even if you are feeling discouraged or hopeless. As a nurse practitioner as well as a psychotherapist, I can prescribe psychotropic medication if needed. I can provide medicare rebates for every session because I am also a nurse practitioner.

Therapy with me will help you: feel calmer and more relaxed, feel more satisfied and content with your life, focus on what matters to you, sleep better and eat better, manage strong emotions so that you feel in control, stronger and more loving relationships, be more accepting of yourself, and have more self-confidence.

I adopt a holistic approach to my psychotherapy services in the Northern Beaches. No two people are alike, and therefore no two treatment methods will be the same either. I will take the time to get to know you, your symptoms, and the reasons behind them, before tailoring your sessions to suit your needs. My website is www.livingconsciously.com.au.
