About Me

Hi, I am Vidhi Maheshwari and I am a counseling psychologist based out of Mumbai, India. I completed my dual degree in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University, USA. I am currently offering in-person sessions for clients in Nagpur and online sessions for others. I provide counseling in both English and Hindi. I have worked with two leading victims' services organizations based in New York City for 2 years, where I provided counseling services to children, adults, and families. I helped my clients work through their trauma, grief, depression, life transition, self-esteem and confidence issues, body image issues, and anxiety. I sincerely believe that each individual has the power to heal from the past, live in the present, and shape their future. I work with my clients to work through their challenges to find the best versions of themselves.

Approach

My approach to therapy primarily focuses on the connection between recurring thoughts and behaviours. The aim is to identify and change faulty thought patterns with more positive and objective thoughts. However, I recognise that each client comes with a unique experience that does not fit one box and approach to therapy. As a client-centered therapist, I adopt an eclectic approach to therapy that focuses on building rapport, unconditional positive regard, and establishing empathetic connections. I am a receptive and compassionate listener. I strive to create a non-judgmental and safe space for clients to establish a positive alliance that best fits their needs and concerns. In addition to my clinical work, I am an avid yoga and meditation practitioner which allows me to incorporate mindfulness-based techniques and tools in my work.
