Tim Robinson

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I have a particular interest in anxiety, especially social anxiety. I feel at times men get left “behind” in the health system and do not utilise services as well as they could so I’m keen to promote support around men’s mental health and have done academic research in this area. View my website for more information.

About Me

Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, especially social anxiety, can be isolating. I offer a warm, understanding space to explore these feelings and find ways forward. My academic research into men's mental health ensures a dedicated, understanding space for men seeking support. We can work together to build confidence, helping you navigate challenges with greater ease. My collaborative approach is tailored to your unique experience.

Approach

When anxiety makes social moments feel overwhelming, I focus on steady, practical steps that respect your pace and priorities. In Christchurch or online (English), sessions move between brief check-ins, focused skill practice and small in-session experiments that you can try between meetings. I keep things collaborative and evidence-minded—gentle exposures, rehearsal of new responses and reflective review to notice change. This way of working often suits adults—particularly men—looking for clear, manageable ways to feel more confident in social and everyday lives.
