Private Practice Group

“I’m Farah, a psychotherapist and relationship therapist based in India, working online with individuals and couples across India and internationally. My practice is warm, collaborative and rooted in the principles of social justice. I specialise in trauma-focused therapy and couples therapy, and work with people navigating relationships, identity, anxiety, trauma, family dynamics and major life transitions. ”

About Us

The Mirrored Room is a queer-led therapy practice built on the belief that therapy begins with a relationship. I believe that relationship with your therapist should feel authentic and collaborative - a space where you can bring more of yourself into the room and where I show up as a real person alongside you. Rather than seeing our struggles in isolation from the world around us, I make space for the social, political and cultural contexts we come from.

Approach

Starting therapy can be overwhelming, and so I always encourage my clients to take their time opening up to me. I believe that trust isn't built overnight, but together we create a space that feels warm, authentic and collaborative. From that foundation, it becomes easier to grow and practise new ways of relating. We might examine the stories you carry about yourself, notice patterns that keep showing up in your relationships, learn to stay with difficult emotions, or meet the parts of yourself that have felt like they're too much or not enough with greater curiosity and compassion. My work draws from relational psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy and expressive arts approaches. My work with couples also draws from Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method. Rather than following one approach rigidly, I adapt our work to the person or relationship in front of me. I see therapy as a slow spiral of growth, deepening your connection with yourself and your relationships.

Services

I specialise in trauma-focused therapy and couples and relationship therapy, with extensive experience in areas related to relationships, trauma, self-image, gender-identity, sexuality, anxiety and depression. I frequently work with queer (LGBTQ+) folks, disabled, neurodivergent and chronically ill folks. I also have particular experience working affirmatively with non-monogamous and polyamorous clients and relationships, and those who practise kink/BDSM. In relationship therapy, I work with people navigating conflict and communication, disconnection, intimacy, breaches of trust, changing relationship needs and questions about how they want their relationships to look.
