Mrs Susan Lobb, BCouns

Mental Health Counselor

I am passionate about helping you to make changes that enhance your life and help navigate challenges that have come your way. I work gently and take time to build relationships with my clients. I try and gain their trust so that we have a safe space to work together for the betterment of the client's future. I use mostly Narrative therapy and incorporate whatever my client needs to enhance the therapeutic space.

About Me

I am passionate about my job as a counsellor. I began my journey into counselling later after a few years as a spiritual healer. As an older student it was a challenge to start learning again but am thrilled I was able to achieve my bachelor's degree in applied counselling. I come from a farming background and bring a wealth of knowledge and life experience to the counselling room. My husband and I still farm and we have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren, some living close and some a distance away.

Approach

Together we uncover what matters most and shape a practical roadmap for change, keeping your priorities at the centre. I offer sessions in English from Inglewood and online across Taranaki and New Zealand, pacing work to suit how you show up—steady, focused and responsive. Sessions mix attentive listening, skill practice and brief between-session steps tailored to your life, with regular check-ins so we adjust as needed. Those seeking strengths-based, steady support to strengthen everyday coping and personal clarity tend to find this approach useful.
