Miss Shelagh MacFarlane

Counseling Psychologist

I trained in Canada and the UK; have consulted internationally and am registered professionally in British Columbia, Canada. My therapeutic approach is integrative; I incorporate acceptance and commitment therapy modalities, Gestalt techniques, inner-child work, visualization, and meditation.

About Me

Perhaps you're navigating complex feelings or seeking new ways to understand yourself. I offer an integrative Counseling approach. Drawing from various modalities, we can explore underlying patterns and find fresh perspectives together. We might use inner-child work or visualisation to gain clarity. This flexible method is ideal for those ready to delve deeper, helping you build lasting change. My broad training allows me to tailor our work to your unique needs.

Approach

Having trained in Canada and the UK and consulted internationally, I structure sessions to be steady and exploratory — short check-ins, focused experiential exercises, and paced reflection that you can carry into your week. In my Kuala Lumpur practice and online I keep language clear and practical, using imagery, mindful pauses and gentle experiments to uncover patterns linked to stress, cravings, anxiety or relational traps. Between meetings I often suggest small, achievable practices to test new ways of being. This approach suits people ready for thoughtful, collaborative change.
