Ms Rana Salloum

Professional Counselor

verified by TherapyRoute

I am counsellor with 15+ years of experience working with stress, anxiety, mood disorders and different types of trauma, which may arise from bullying and various forms of violence. I also offer support in Arabic and French.

About Me

I am a Professional Counselor based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. I help you manage stress and burnout, family conflicts, relationship problems, and women's issues. I offer counseling, relationship counseling, and EMDR in a confidential, practical setting.

Approach

When overwhelming emotions or relational strain show up, I slow the pace and map what feels most urgent so we can work in manageable steps. In Sydney or online, in Arabic or English, sessions blend focused exploration with practical exercises and brief check-ins between meetings to reinforce new patterns. I tend to use body-grounding, narrative reflection and targeted processing to reduce reactivity and rebuild trust in yourself and others. This approach suits people seeking steady, hands-on support through change.

I have 15+ years of experience working with multicultural populations, in different countries such as the USA and Lebanon. I offer therapy in both English and Arabic. I can also hold a conversation in French. I support at-risk youth, displaced families, and those facing relationship problems. I work with mood disorders and different types of trauma, created by bullying and domestic violence. I offer a client-centred and multicultural approach in therapy. I emphasise accepting the uniqueness of each individual while also working with the intricate impact of culture on self- awareness, development and overall well-being.

In addition to the wide range of therapeutic techniques I use, I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am also an animal lover and believe in integrating animals into therapy, when appropriate, as this type of therapy can provide soothing, healing and comfort for individual clients.

I view the process of counselling as a delicate and enriching experience, both for my clients as well as for myself as a counsellor.

I am now recognised by additional health fund providers, including AHM Health, ARHG, Bupa, HCF Health Insurance, and Medibank Private. This means more clients can access rebates for my services through their private health insurance plans.
