Clinical Psychologist

verified by TherapyRoute

I offer compassionate, patient-centred support to help individuals navigate a range of mental health conditions. Many clients seek help with addiction, eating disorders, or other challenges. Our sessions provide a safe, understanding space where we explore your experiences at your own pace. Together, we develop practical strategies for lasting well-being.

About Me

I am based at the USA government-funded International Technology Transfer Centre in South Africa, within UCT’s Department of Psychiatry. My experience spans private practice as a clinical social worker, lecturing at the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP), and work in inpatient treatment centres. I also founded an eating disorder unit in Cape Town, where I coordinated clinical processes and led clients’ treatment programmes.

Approach

My approach is patient-centred to the assessment, diagnosis and intervention of individuals using various therapeutic interventions dependent on the patient. These include: psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). I am passionate about supporting individuals who find themselves experiencing mental health difficulties, including trauma, loss or those wishing to explore relationship difficulties as well as challenges during times of life transition.
