Ms Niti Gupta, M.Couns
Counseling Psychologist
“I am an integrative, systemic psychotherapist with a primary focus on relational dynamics, attachment, and identity transitions. My work is grounded in attachment theory and informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, cognitive-behavioural and acceptance-based approaches, and trauma-informed practice. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating emotional distress, relationship strain, and periods of significant change. My clinical interest lies in helping people understand the relational patterns that shape their emotional lives and supporting them in developing greater emotional maturity, clarity, and agency.”
About Me
I work with people who often appear to be functioning well externally, yet feel internally distressed, disconnected, or stuck. This may include persistent low mood, anxiety, burnout, relational conflict, or a sense that life or relationships are no longer aligned with one’s values.
A significant part of my practice focuses on couples experiencing emotional disengagement, recurring conflict, infidelity, parenting stress, or uncertainty about whether to remain together. I also offer premarital counselling as a certified PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator, supporting couples in building emotional awareness, clarifying expectations, and preparing for intentional partnership.
Alongside this, I work with startup founders and co-founders, helping them navigate not only stress and pressure, but also values alignment, relational dynamics, and unspoken tensions that can lead to conflict as organisations grow.
I bring international life and work experience into my practice and strive to offer a calm, thoughtful, and non-judgmental therapeutic space. My work is secular, culturally sensitive, and LGBTQ+ affirming.
Approach
My therapeutic approach is integrative, relational, and trauma-informed. I draw from Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), adapting my work to each client’s emotional capacity, relational context, and goals.
Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, I aim to help clients understand the deeper emotional and relational patterns shaping their experiences. Therapy often involves increasing emotional awareness, strengthening reflective capacity, developing practical skills, and working through unresolved relational injuries at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.
I view therapy as a collaborative process that balances empathy with gentle challenge, supporting clients in moving from familiar but limiting patterns toward more intentional and meaningful ways of living and relating.
Services
I offer therapy for individuals, couples, and families. My areas of work include:
- Couples therapy for emotional disengagement, high-conflict dynamics, infidelity, parenting stress, and separation or divorce
- Premarital counselling (PREPARE/ENRICH) for couples seeking intentional, values-aligned partnerships
- Individual therapy for depression, anxiety, burnout, emotional regulation difficulties, and identity transitions
- Relational and values-based work with startup founders and co-founders to support alignment and prevent relational breakdown
- Support around life transitions, relational trauma, and long-standing patterns rooted in early relationships
My aim is to support clients in developing emotional clarity, relational resilience, and a stronger sense of agency in their lives.
