Mike Smith

Registered Counselor

For 21 years I have brought warmth, clear structure, and proven tools to therapy. When experiencing a relational approach combined with CBT and CPT for PTSD, you can expect better sleep, fewer nightmares and flashbacks, steadier emotions, less anxiety, better mood, less self-blame, and more focus and control.

About Me

With 21 years supporting adults, I understand how past experiences shape our present. I specialise in attachment, trauma, and relationships, helping you navigate complex emotions. We blend relational interventions with practical tools like CBT and DBT. Art therapy, for instance, offers a unique way to express unspoken feelings. This integrated approach supports clients in building stronger connections and finding lasting emotional stability.

Approach

Sessions move from safety into change with a steady structure and warm presence, using movement-based expression, art prompts and focused cognitive work to soothe the body and clarify thoughts. In North Vancouver and online in English, I keep pace intentional—short between-session practices, creative prompts or brief skills drills that root new responses in daily life. Clinical supervision is similarly practical: reflective, case-oriented, and outcome-focused. People recovering from trauma, attachment wounds or relationship ruptures often find this paced, hands-on rhythm helpful.
