Ms Mia Pienaar

Registered Counselor

I'm here to listen, understand, and use evidence-based psychotherapeutic techniques to help you to live the life you want to live.

About Me

I offer a space where your unique story is genuinely heard. My aim is to help you explore what's holding you back. Drawing on evidence-based approaches, we develop practical tools for change. We'll work collaboratively to understand your challenges, building clarity and confidence. This approach is ideal for those ready to navigate life's complexities and shape a more fulfilling future.

Approach

That growing clarity guides how I conduct sessions: focused listening followed by targeted, evidence-informed techniques tailored to your pace and priorities. I work with individuals and couples in Johannesburg and online, in English, creating predictable sessions with a clear agenda and space for whatever arrives. Sessions blend short practical experiments—breathing or grounding practices, behavioural steps, narrative reflection—and gentle tracking between meetings so we notice shifts in grief, relationships, chronic illness adjustment, mood or burnout. People facing transitions or persistent losses often find this steady, practical rhythm helpful.
