Dr Melanie Marx

Registered Counselor

I offer individual counselling for adults and adolescents. I also work with children through play.

About Me

I offer individual Counseling, helping adults and adolescents navigate life's challenges. For younger clients, I guide children to express feelings through the natural language of play. This approach creates a safe space where worries can be explored without words. It fosters confidence and resilience, helping every client find their voice and feel truly heard.

Approach

From that starting point I focus on clear, stepwise change—naming feelings, mapping patterns and choosing small, manageable actions we can try between sessions. I work from Paarl and online, in English or Afrikaans, keeping sessions calm and structured whether face-to-face or via video. Assessment, skills practice and trauma‑sensitive pacing guide work with adolescents and adults, while play helps children show what words cannot and shapes shared problem‑solving. This way suits people navigating loss, transitions or recovery from abuse.
