About Me
Approach
Mary Williams works from multiple modes of therapy: Primarily Internal Family Systems and EMDR. Both are evidenced based, proven models of psychotherapy, working from the assumption that our core selves have the tools to grow and heal. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) focuses on helping people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, while Internal Family Systems helps individuals to discover the valuable qualities and innate healing ability of our internal system of parts and our Core Self. Services
Additionally, distressing life experiences such as domestic violence, childhood sexual abuse, emotional abuse, etc are all too common and I hope that those living with the memories of such experiences have access to quality mental health care to aid their healing.
