Dr Martin Smith

Psychotherapist

I have been in private practice for over twenty five years and linked with EAP groups such as BUPA and the NHS I work extensively from a solution focused approach helping individuals to move forward in work and life.

About Me

For nearly twenty-five years, I have offered a grounded, supportive space as a Psychotherapist. My PhD and extensive private practice experience allow me to guide a wide range of individuals. We can work collaboratively to understand your experiences and find clear ways forward. Clients seeking an established, trusted professional will find my approach reassuring. This includes those referred through BUPA or the NHS.

Approach

Drawing on a PhD from Kona University, I structure sessions to map recurring patterns, track thoughts and feelings, and examine their impact on behaviour. In-session work tests new responses through brief behavioural experiments and guided reflection. Between meetings you will be asked to practise specific tasks, keep simple logs and use short remote check-ins where useful. Sessions are available in person and online for adults, individuals and organisations. This approach suits those prepared for steady, practical change and regular engagement.
