Manisha Grewal, MA

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Do you find yourself constantly caught between the pull of the past and the worries of the future? Many people describe feeling like they’re moving through life on autopilot — weighed down by overthinking, low mood, or the pressure to keep everyone else happy. You might notice people-pleasing tendencies, difficulty maintaining boundaries, or a pattern of overgiving that leaves you drained, ungrounded, and disconnected from yourself. If this sounds familiar, we may be a good fit. Here, you’ll find a warm, calm space where your feelings are validated and your voice genuinely matters. Together, we’ll explore what fuels your distress and gently uncover the deeper experiences and patterns shaping your emotional world. Alongside this, we’ll build practical tools to regulate your nervous system, ease your symptoms in the present, and help you move through life with greater clarity, steadiness, and a growing sense of inner safety. For many people, finding a therapist who truly understands their cultural background can be a challenge. As a South Asian therapist, I bring the richness of three cultures, four languages, and the rare perspective of being both a first- and third-generation immigrant. These lived experiences allow me to deeply empathize with the immigrant journey across generations, as well as the ways culture, family expectations, and identity can shape mental health. No matter your background or story, I aim to meet you with genuine understanding, respect, and compassion. I'm a proud ally to LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC communities and offer inclusive care for all backgrounds and lived experiences. If you’re curious about working together, reach out and let's begin with a free 30-min consultation. ✨ Free 30-minute consultation available ✨ Evening and weekend appointments for your convenience

About Me

I’m Manisha Grewal, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and the heart of my work is helping people reconnect with themselves in a way that feels steady, compassionate, and real. I work with individuals who are thoughtful, self-aware, and often high-achieving—yet internally feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or weighed down by self-criticism. Many of the clients I support are navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, perfectionism, relationship challenges, boundary difficulties, or a sense of emptiness despite “doing everything right” on the outside. Others come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted from family dynamics, past experiences, or long-standing patterns that no longer serve them. Therapy with me is collaborative, gentle, and deeply human. I aim to create a space that feels calm, non-judgmental, and safe enough for you to slow down and explore what’s happening beneath the surface—at your own pace. I don’t believe in fixing or pathologizing you. Instead, we work together to understand your experiences, your emotional world, and the protective patterns you’ve developed, while cultivating greater self-compassion, clarity, and choice. ✨ Free 30-minute consultation available ✨ Evening and weekend appointments for your convenience

Approach

My approach is integrative and informed by evidence-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), parts-based work, emotion-focused and existential approaches, mindfulness, and somatic awareness. I also take a culturally sensitive and relational lens, recognizing how identity, family systems, and lived experiences shape how we move through the world. Clients often describe our work together as grounding, validating, and insightful. Many say they leave sessions feeling more connected to themselves, better able to regulate their emotions, and more confident setting boundaries, making decisions, and showing up in relationships in ways that align with their values. If you’re looking for a therapist who offers warmth, depth, and thoughtful guidance—while honoring your autonomy and inner wisdom—you don’t have to do this alone. Therapy can be a soft place to land, and a meaningful space to grow.

Basic Information

Services

When you step into therapy with me, you’ll find a calm, safe, and judgment-free space where your voice is central. I will listen closely, honour the wisdom you already carry, and collaborate with you to create a plan that aligns with your personal goals and values. We will move at a pace that feels right for you. I work with adults (18+) on a wide range of concerns, including: (Anxiety, depression, stress, and burnout) (Low motivation, self-doubt, and perfectionism) (Self-esteem, people-pleasing tendencies, and identity issues) (Relationship and trust concerns) (Attachment-based and intergenerational trauma) (Life transitions and major changes) (ADHD, neurodivergence, and mood disorders) Many clients come to me seeking not just relief from symptoms, but also a deeper understanding of themselves — how past experiences and trauma have shaped their worldview, patterns of responding, and sense of self. Therapy is a space to reflect, grow, and discover new ways of relating to yourself and others. I have worked with individuals from many cultural, spiritual, and religious backgrounds, and I always strive to tailor therapy to each person’s unique context. I proudly stand as an ally to LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, offering an inclusive and affirming space where every part of you is welcome. My approach is compassionate, client-centered, and culturally sensitive — never one-size-fits-all. In every session, I prioritize creating a sense of safety so you can feel secure enough to explore, heal, and thrive. Therapy is a journey of self-discovery, healing, and meaningful growth. I know starting can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. Throughout our work together, I’ll honour that you are the expert of your own life — my role is to support, guide, and walk alongside you at a pace that feels right. If my approach resonates, I invite you to reach out with any questions. When you feel ready, I would be honoured to accompany you on your path toward healing and wholeness.
