Ms Lori Shifrin

Licensed Clinical Social Workers

I am a licensed clinical therapist (MSocSc UCT) specialising in clinical practice. I specialise in helping individuals overcome a wide range of mental health challenges, trauma, relationship with food & body, anxiety and stress, including grief and loss, postpartum and motherhood stressors as well as digital wellness.

About Me

I offer a supportive space to navigate life's complexities. I help individuals overcome diverse mental health challenges, including trauma, anxiety, and stress. I provide dedicated support if you are navigating your relationship with food and body, or facing postpartum and motherhood stressors. We also explore challenges around digital wellness. Through our collaborative work, we examine concerns and find practical steps towards greater well-being.

Approach

Therapy with me moves from careful curiosity to practical change: we map what feels most urgent, trace patterns that keep you stuck, and choose small experiments to try between sessions. Sessions are in English, available from Cape Town or online, paced to fit busy lives and parental responsibilities. I combine mindful cognitive practices, focused assessment and social work-informed reflection so insights become usable coping skills for trauma, anxiety, eating and transition challenges. This way of working tends to suit people seeking steady, achievable progress.
